Raise a concern with evidence and a clear explanation.

Email [email protected] with the manuscript or article identifier, the issue, relevant dates and supporting information. Specify whether the concern relates to a decision, process, conduct or a published article.
Editorial appeals
Explain the specific factual or procedural basis for an appeal and address the original decision. Disagreement alone does not establish an error. The journal may seek an independent assessment where appropriate.
Fair handling
Concerns should be considered by an appropriate person without a relevant conflict. The journal may ask for additional information and consider responses from affected parties. Confidentiality is maintained as far as practical; anonymity cannot be guaranteed where investigation requires disclosure.
Outcome
The response should address the concern and explain the action or decision. Timelines depend on the complexity of the case and the availability of evidence.
